
DR ALFRED ABELA
Partner
Alfred spent over 13 years as a member of the Police Force, rising through the ranks to become a second-class Sergeant Major, whilst concurrently reading for his Doctor of Laws degree at the University of Malta. Upon successfully obtaining the warrant to practice law, Alfred started earning repute as a leading criminal defence lawyer, assisting clients in a number of high profile cases. His experience with the Police Force has helped him gain an invaluable insight into the subject of criminal law, which then became and is Alfred’s main area of practice.


DR CARLOS BUGEJA
Partner
Carlos read for a Doctor of Laws degree at the University of Malta (with a dissertation entitled: "The Standard of Proof for Criminal Conduct in Civil Proceedings"), and later also obtained a Master of Arts in Law, with Civil Law being his chosen area of study (after successfully defending his dissertation entitled "Freedom of Contract, Paternalism, and Maltese Law"). Since obtaining his warrant to practice law, he has been involved in a number of legal publications, while also serving as a lecturer and examiner for the University of Malta.
Carlos focuses his practice on civil and commercial litigation, and has a particular interest in real estate, contract and public procurement law.



DR GRAZIELLA DARMANIN CRICCHIOLA
Associate
Graziella read Law at the University of Malta; she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2016 and later her Master of Advocacy degree in 2017. Soon after, she was admitted to the Bar. Her University of Malta research project was entitled: “The Granting of Rights and Responsibilities to Grandparents over Grandchildren – An Analysis of the Current Legal Position in Malta”. Graziella is a civil litigation lawyer with interests ranging from family law, personal injury law, and employment law. In 2021, Graziella joined the Firm as an Associate.

DR RENÈ DARMANIN
Associate
Renè successfully completed his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2016. Soon after, Renè obtained his Master of Advocacy degree at the University of Malta and was subsequently admitted to the Bar to practice as a lawyer in Malta. Since then, Renè has climbed fast through the ranks, earning a reputation of excellence in the Criminal Law field. Today, Renè’s main practice focuses on criminal and constitutional law. In 2021, Renè joined the Firm as an Associate.

DR JURGEN MICALLEF
Associate
Jurgen read law at the University of Malta, obtaining his Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree in 2020, after successfully defending his dissertation: "The 2018 Amendments to Article 1045 of the Maltese Civil Code: A Case of Subtraction through Addition?" In 2021, Jurgen also obtained a Master of Advocacy degree from the University of Malta and later (in 2023) obtained a Master of Laws in Civil and Commercial Law at the University of London, with distinction. Jurgen particularly focuses on areas within the fields of Tort, Commercial Law and Succession Law

SACHELLE CAMILLERI
Office Administrator
Sachelle manages the administrative operation of the Firm, handling client inquiries, consultations, court cases, and timely access to lawyers as required. Sachelle works closely with the members of the firm in order to streamline processes, maximise efficiency, and foster professional relationships within the organisation.
